Just wondering what your favorite type of slabs are. I am biased toward the PCGS Gasket slabs. What's yours? (You may select multiple) Also, please reply with why your favorite is so. ~Cannyn
I don't own any but if I did I'd say the old anacs holders I like their smaller size takes up less space
Gotta go with NGC Prong. Even though I dislike slabs for coins I do keep my U.S. coins in the slabs I have bought them in & I always like the NGC slabs the best.
My favorite slab is no slab. But as far as slabs go, I like the NGC prongs the best. I almost feel bad about cracking those coins out.
I like te older holder from PCGS,NGC & ANACS. I would have voted for the PCGS Doily but it wasn't listed
None of mine stay in slabs long, but if I had to choose which ones I like before I destroy them, I think the NGC direct fit look the nicest. The edge view prongs don't allow you to see all the edge, so to me it's pointless. The clear plastic of PCGS has always looked ameteurish to me. Not saying their grading is, as I feel they are the best graders. But their plastic could use a major overhaul in esthetics. Guy
Doilies totally slipped my mind along with the raw option. As for Rattlers and the such, I really don't want to get into the whole list on Sampleslabs.com. Though I also forgot to give my favorite and the most reliable grader. I mean check this perfect quarter out! :rollling:
I would have picked "cracked" if that were an option. Since it's not, I voted for the slab that still remains around my '09 SVDB. My only slabbed coin.
While silver looks good in black, brown cents look hideous in black slabs. I voted for NGC slabs. They look and feel more professional than PCGS slabs -- I've always thought PCGS slabs feel and look cheap. I'm not a fan of the NGC (or PCGS) prong holders for coins cent-size or smaller (19mm or smaller). But, for larger coins the NGC white prongs are quite aesthetically pleasing.
I prefer the slab to the coin myself. The old PCGS slabs with the rubber dealies inside that turned colors were pretty darn cool. Wonder what causes that? Anyway, I like the PCGS prong type, which seems to be a copy of the NGC type, which is my second favorite. They both scratch too easily (not sure about the new NGC ones) and PLEASE READ PCGS: Could you please make the dollar slabs stack properly without the centers rubbing! A little thinner would be nice too, like the old 'rattlers' - could probably fit 25 or more in the same size box.
