Here an 85-O with 1885-CC Vam#2. But this one has a very large dash. has anyone had one graded and a Vam number assigned to an 1885-O like this one?
I have never seen one like that. Here is a link to the top 100, but I am sure you already know them: http://vamworld.com/Top+100+Morgan+VAMs
MD I been there and found not one that was even looked a little bit like this one. also checked this link->http://www.ashmore.com/vamupdate/ to also nothing matched it??? Maybe this is just a Very big die crack but there has to be more that one. :foot-mouth:Rare??? or :smile pop of 1?? I truly do know, but thank for the help!!!
Have you posted the coin in question there, Jello man? I would if I were you. They might help you better.
Could be a die crack, or a metal fragment that adhered to the die during the strike. I have never seen that as a published VAM. My honest answer is "I dunno." Die crack or extra metal fragment stamped into coin from another coin's remnant seems possible.
