Strange how Turks & Caicos only made a 1/4 C and a 1 C for circulation.

 

I would like to complete the Puerto Rico set and obtain some nicer examples of the Martinique coinage, alas my pockets are not deep enough these days.

 

Aren't Martinique coins really scarce? I believe Martinique was mostly destroyed by a volcano, so I'm sure that doesn't help.

 

Actually I guess it wasn't Martinique that was destroyed. Now that's going to bug me until I remember. I know it was a French island.

Yeah, it just came to me so I looked it up in Wikipedia. Seems like a French name though.

 

I like that one a lot. It was one of those that I just saw on eBay with no bids on it and a reasonable price and I couldn't let it pass me by.

 

i sold that particular coin for £758 at auction.

 

I have few Carribean coins but my fav and rarest has to be this (notice the date )
