P6010212.jpg P6010207.jpg I know the pictures suck, but they captured the toning quite well, so I'm ok with them. It's an MS-65 1938-D.

Over 100 proof sets I inherited from my grandfather. They go from 1967 to 2000 without missing a year and include 6 unc CC Silver dollars with mint damage and some silver proof sets. They are not all going to be mine however, I have been charged with dividing them up among myself and the other grand children.

Not pictured are the close to 600 other coins that he has given me/I've inherited over the years.

The mailman brought this to my door today. MS-62 1924 SLQ. The count for my uncirculated 20th century type set drops to one left now!

I dont know what the mint has done to replace actual frosted surfaces with the "look" of a frosty cameo, but they have failed. The coin's relief is getting thinner and thinner, and the salt and pepper frosted imposter is ugly as sin. I seem to remember someone else complaining about it recently, but now that I have a coin in hand, oh boy it's bad. WOW, I might have to stop buying my yearly Kennedy Proofs. (ok, let's not get extreme).

Here it is, my latest purchase, you decide:

Wow, thanks for that link. the side by side profile shots for each year is amazing! Now, they just need to add 2011 and 2012, and we'll see just how really bad it has become. The 2010 from that link looks bad enough vs 2006, but trust me, the 2012 is twice as bad!!!

geekpryde - That's pretty sad that they've gotten even worse since 2010.
