I fill my Danscos with the mint and proof sets I get each year, but I am running out of holes. Does anyone know when Dansco is going to release new supplement pages, and what they are going to do with some of the full albums? I only had enough holes to put away the cent, dime, and half this year. I am not worried about the quarters. I know I still need to get the Dansco for those. But the JFK book is now FULL. I have no more holes to put even this years proof coins, much less any future coins. The Jefferson book was full in 2011. So I will need the next page for that. The Dime book has one more hole... 13-P, and nothing beyond that. The Sac book was full as of 11. Then the POTUS book is like the quarter book... I need to get one. Album 2 of that series to be exact. So what is going on with Dansco? I have yet to find any update pages, and the new nickel books are now ending with 05, instead of 11 like my book. ???
I checked their site, and they are still only selling what I have and my normal supplier has. I was looking for 'new' update pages, or info on when they would come out. The update pages on sale right now are the pages I have already in the back of my books.
Isn't there blank pages? They used to sell blank ones, and you can just put the coins in and label yourself if you want. I bought an extra dime page once just to put some interesting mercuries I had in with the rest of the collection.
Yeah, they have blank pages. I don't care for them. It is gauranteed that they will do something eventually. I was just hoping someone knew 'when'. I figure that when I break down and buy the blank pages, they will release the update pages. That's my luck.
If it helps, you can buy stencils and can make your blanks look pretty darn close to printed pages. A friend of mine did that once, making himself a custom folder that looked like Dansco printed it for his Buffalos, (he wanted to determine himself what constituted a "complete" collection, but also wanted for his collection to be "complete" and no empty holes). It looked really nice and professional.
Where would you buy such a thing? I have seen the date stickers, but they are very large in relation to the original printing, and look out of place. I'd love to find some that are like model car decals. Very small, thin, and clear, so it looks like print on the page.
I wonder what people are going to do about this years one unc Parks quarter in 'S' mint! The books have long been designed and sold long ago, and now the mint springs one coin that is not going to be in anyone's book.
That is good info. I guess I have to buy a new nickel book. I hope they do pages for the dimes, Sacs, and JFKs, however the JFK book is pretty thick as it is. The cent book makes 'cents'
This was a plastic stencil like you see at craft stores. It had every year, and he got another for letters. You lined up the year under the hole, and then stenciled through it. He did his in gold lettering and it really looked nice. I believe the trick would be to find the stencil with the exact size you wanted, (and of course learning how to use it ).
My JFK Dansco goes up to 2017 currently if I recall correctly. It's the one without the proof holes though, only uncirculated P and D mints. I think my Dime Dansco goes up to 2024 or something like that, but it's the one without the proof's as well. Same for the Jefferson.
Yep, I have done this. Stencils are available at any good stationary supply. May find a better choice of font styles by looking online. I did mine with gold leaf look alike (not real gold leaf) and it looks really sharp. Lately though, I go with 2x2 and binder pages until the whole Dansco album page is history and we know for sure what the Mint is going to give us. I have gotten books/pages, only to have the mint surprise us and change the series so that what Dansco printed was no longer what the mint printed and had to turn around and buy yet more pages. (ugg)
