    That's very cool! One day I'll have a less common error like that. But I'm kind of surprised they kept it creased to show the error in the plastic like that. I'd figure that they would keep the bill flat?

    Error notes in TPG holders are always showing the error, so they would not fold the bill flat. I have a printed crease error graded by PCGS and they kept the crease to show how the note was printed.

    I don't think Printed Fold Over Notes look very nice when unfolded.

    Agree, and from a practical perspective, they might just have trouble fitting it in the holder :)

    Nice notes, Steve and Clay. I have a couple nice ones heading my way in the mail... anxious to get them.

    Today I received this Series 1976 $2 FRN First Day of Issue with a postmark from the Naval Research Lab branch in Washington, DC.

    That's pretty cool, but what's really cool is the enclosed BEP pamphlet from Nov 1975:

    I've never seen one before either — It's almost new. There's a fold in the upper right corner of the front.

    If I had another, I'd be happy to send it to you.

    I lived at NAS Jacksonville for a while, and my sister was born there, so I picked this up for her;

    My first mismatched serial note arrived today...

    I consider it an XF, with very good centering.

    One of my new favorite notes arrived the other day — Series 1976 $2 FRN First Day of Issue, postmarked Anaheim, CA with two Apollo 8 Moonrise 6¢ stamps (Scott# 1371 issued in 1969).

    [IMG]

    It's the first time I saw these stamps on a First Day of Issue note.

    The first note is a Series 1974 $1 FRN with a moderate misaligned overprint.

    After classic U.S. coinage and large sized U.S. paper currency, I enjoy collecting Philippine currency from the time it was under control of the United States. I appreciate the design's of both the Mint and the BEP, in developing the look that this money portrayed. I aquired this 50 Peso Red Seal to the Blue Seal I already owned. The 50 Peso Red Seal series are not as numerous, and predate the 50 Peso Blue Seal series by about 25 years.
