They may or they may not. It doesn't matter. You have to authenticate something before you buy it, every time, or your going to be taken by counterfeiters...

    From their website:

    WHAT THE CAC STICKER MEANS:
    • Verified. Your coin has been verified as meeting the standard for strict quality within its grade.
    • Guaranteed. CAC stands behind our verification by making markets in most actively traded coins.

"Not" to which? that a COA increases the value (I agree it does not) or your ability to sell it for the appropriate value (this it does).

That's your choice and a good one if you're not sure about the coin.

Would you have taken the $$$ for the CAC coin or the NON CAC.....:)

In the context of the preceeding sentence:
"Due to today’s selective collector/dealer, an ever increasing number of certified coins on the market are considered low end for their grade. CAC holds coins to a higher standard so you can be confident in the value of yours. We verify previously graded coins and award our sticker only to those coins that meet the standard for today’s sophisticated buyer"Th

They do not sticker a coin that they consider appropriate for the grade, but at the low end of the grade.

Not from what I see at Heritage. Those stickered coins are bringing down substantially better prices then non-stickered coins. If I was in a market, I'd avoid the sticker to prevent from being taken.

    Then why waste $10?

If you're comfortable with the TPG's opinion on grade, why bother having a verification done by CAC?

No problem man...I got thick skin.

Exactly, same concept. Ideally, a "+" designation and CAC sticker would always converge.

You need to re-read what I posted directly from their website. It is in direct contradiction to your last sentence above.

But your copy and paste, confirms what I stated.

I've underlined and bolded for your viewing pleasure ;)

You would purposefully avoid higher quality coins just because they have a sticker?

Ask that to the people who are willing to be more confident in their bidding because of the CAC sticker.

The question was posed to the OP who uses CAC's service.

Please, finish reading the rest of that sentence you underlined and bolded. I'm not an idiot. In fact, re-read that whole CAC page. The "standard for today's buyer" and "low end for their grade" are contrasted. Read ANYTHING by CAC - they don't sticker coins that are appropriate for the grade but at the low-end. A no-sticker does not necessarily mean the coin should be a lower grade, just that it is not a "+" for the grade.

That right there would be why I would ever wish to have a CAC sticker. I am not one to worry about bragging rights, but if I wished to sell "remotely" my coins that is the value. Same reason sight unseen slab market never worked, to me the CAC's main attraction would be to assure buyers that a coin is not a defective MS64, but a good MS64.

I have never disagreed with this aspect of TPG or CAC's, but I am spoiled in that I do not sell coins. :)

Well, lets see....I think I kinda said it was a $10 investment...did I say that?

Also, I am comfortable with the grade, IN FACT I think they are VERY NICE for the grade. That's why I submit....INVESTMENT.

    Pretty simple.

Because of exactly what he said, the liquidity at resale time.

Well, fortunately, that's the whole point.

It is? Hmm, seems to me there is a thread active right now about posting your favorite CAC coin, and some collectors like to brag about numbers of CAC coins they own.

If the point was only for the sale transaction, why did so many people get mad at Ruben's suggestion to remove the sticker?

    Just wondering.
