Probably a good idea. I've found a number of Clad proofs, you may have missed some.

This past week did $130 in BWR halves and $500 BWR dimes- 1x 1993 Canadian dime(found by magnet), 1x 1957 Roosie(rim search). I'm not complaining, my dump CU makes it easy to dump. Also, 2 1944 wheaties from a CWR of pennies. :)
    Happy Hunting!

Rims are a lot sharper on proofs. I've got quite a few proofs I've pulled when edge checking.

Box of halves, 2 40%'ers... not gonna have 4 boxes this week, one bank had their order screwed up by the holiday. So only two.

I've pulled some proofs from rim checking because they were as you described, nice sharp edges. You just have to pull them to take a peek. I prob haven't missed anything in great shape them otherwise I would have pulled it. I've only searched maybe $60k in halves so it's not a very large sample...yet.

Another box of halves, another skunk. My halves searching has been horrible. 31 boxes out of 53 have been skunks so far this year. That's about 60%. I guess I need to go back and look at last year's results and see but it seems like this is baaaaad.

I did however make up for it with a nice box of dimes: 3 Roosies, 1 Merc ender and a '17 nicely toned Merc. Also picked up $70 BWR dimes = skunk.

Ha ha, I'm not that far behind at $33,902 in halves for the year. My numbers don't compare to yours though. Most I ever got from a box is 12 or so. I'm already over this year what I did all of last year so I should double up last years numbers and add some extra. Looking for different suppliers.

I'm pacing to do about 30% more than last year... tracking for about 90k this year, did 60k and change last year, in halves that is.

If you throw away those two big boxes, my numbers have been dismal.

I'm running a 2.42 per box avg, with 4 boxes that had 10-12 in them. Without those...man it just would not be worth it. I have scored something like 20 x 40%ers out of my last 30+ boxes so well below 1 per box.

I have to interrupt my own roll searching to post a message. I'm in the middle of what will definitely be my best box of halves to date! Seems like every other roll has a treat or 2 or 3 in it! I will have pics, there are definitely 2 enders. I can't wait for the final results, which will have to come tomorrow when I pick up the rest of the box. I will say that I'm definitely into double digits with the 40%ers! Woohoo!!! :D What a way to close out the month! SA WEEEEET!!!

Box of halves-skunk for silver, found a 1976 clad proof though. There was quite a few coins that were marked on the obverse, that I'm used to seeing. Now this guy/girl is marking the obverse along with marking the rims with a silver marker. I can't think of a reason he would mark twice other than to discourage other searchers with the silver rims. If I could use another word to describe on here I would but what a jerk.

Does this guy also do a thick black mark on the obverse? There's someone in the greater Philly area searching that does that, the box I got today had some of his crap in it.

The 1/2 box of nickels I got yesterday....3 more war nicks. I have found 11 total war nicks, with 6 of them coming the last two days in 1.5 boxes.

Naturally, I picked up another box of nickels to see if this streak keeps going.

    :)
