    fretboard Defender of Old Coinage!

Great section there. And I just bought an 1836 a few weeks ago. I don't know a dang thing about bust halves but I sure like the way they look. :D

I' trying top figure out what this means:

    1830 LM-10 R6, NGC VF-35 PQ+

    All I understand is 1830 NGC VF-35

I'm looking in the read book and there really is nothing about 1830's that is special. I'm trying to figure out the varieties, but i can find zero information on it.

    The write up says

I grade this choice, original, problem-free (and very rare) coin XF. It is sure to cross to any holder brand you choose. A fabulous example! The Reiver NGC VF-25 (Heritage, 1/2006:21994), which was nowhere near as choice as this lovely coin, brought $2300.

    Price: $1,950.00

i have no idea what he is talking about.

Jim M Ride it like ya stole it

    1830 (Date)
LM-10 Odd way of stating it but I believe he is saying its a Large Motto O-110 Overton (although the O-110 is an R3 Coin)
.... LM-10 is just a guess what he is thinking, could be WAY off base with that.
R6 - is the rarity of the coin. In this case there are 13-30 known.
NGC - Obviously is the TPG that has entombed the coin
VF-35 - Grade it was given by TPG
PQ+ - Generally means Proof Quality + Is a term used on paper but I have never seen it used on Busties before.

this is a half dime. Would it mean that the large motto varity is Rare - 6 because in general, I don't thing 1830's are particularly rare.
