So I ran across this coin and from what i am reading, this is a Lamination Peel. my first thought was to get rid of it. Put it on EBAY to see if anyone wanted it, but the closer to the end of the auction it gets, the more I find myself hoping no one bids on it because I kinda want to keep it. I'm new to this field and this coin is really growing on me.

My question is... do these coins have any kind of long term value, or is it just one of those things that you keep because it looks kinda neat?

Perhaps I have misunderstood what Lamination peel is. The white is a small piece of paper that I placed under the layer that is peeling away from the coin to try to show it better. What is this called when the top layer is peeling away?

Sometimes they can be worth many times face value, depending on how interesting the peel is. I'll bet that's worth 10 or 20 times face value to someone. ;)

Keep it. I think they're fun. And treat it with Verdicare to get rid of the green junk on it.

I see that now, I didn't notice that the piece of paper was lifting up the edge of the coin, I just thought it was placed on there, sorry.
