http://news.coinupdate.com/perth-mint-designer-wade-robinson-1339/ Perth Mint Designer Wade Robinson April 26, 2012 By Coin Update 5 Comments Wade Robinson has worked at the Perth Mint for almost a decade. During this time he has had an opportunity to work on many programs which have engaged his passion for creating coins for young collectors and his passion for general knowledge. One of his most memorable experiences was his work on the Perth Mint's first Silver Kangaroo coin which was mass produced in high relief. Released in 2010, the one ounce silver proof coin featured a scene of two kangaroos boxing in the outback. These coins were made with an extra-deep blank to accommodate the detailed high relief design.
Are you kidding? Crap or not I would love to be designing something thats being made for the whole world to be used or seen. Plus I'm pretty sure its a job that is quite enjoyable.
sorry but i am staunchly a "circulation coin enthusiast" i just do not like nclt which is churned out willy nilly by some countries with the sole aim of screwing more and more money from the unwitting people who are new to coin collecting.
Hello You might feel that way but a large number of people buy and collect these coins and feel very differently than you do. This young man designs coins many many people admire and a personally owned work of art. You can not like it. I don't like Jackson Pollack. but there is no need to disparage everyone else. Mandy
What exactly do you find pathetic. I have to admit i'm getting tired of the needless animosity that runs across this board. I came here because i was told that there are some great experts here on the art of coinage, and it is just not working for me.
now this is a work of art and a circulating coin as well......................... like i said i only ever collected circulating coinage apart from a marine wildlife coin from palau that i bought at a charity auction for the WWF. i do not disparage anyone who collects nclt but it just doesn't float my boat in the same way as the coin pictured did when i first saw it, and it is still my favourite coin...........part of the fascination of coin collecting is holding a coin in your hand and wondering who has held it before you? i had an iceni gold stater and who knows boudecca herself may have handled it? or a nazi germany coin, did hitler, himmler or any other of the ruling nazis hold it? you just don't get that with nclt............
I was always biased to this circulation baby This sort of reminds me of something? Anyone seen Cheryl about lately? Ruben
