My favorite modern commemorative is my avatar, the 1987 $5 Gold US Constitution Bicentennial: I not only admire the coins, but I also have great admiration and respect for the document that they honor.

I forgot I had this too. This is the first commemorative I got. It was free since I used the ten dollar bill me later deal.

Don't own any now but my favorite is the 1999 $5 Washington. Designed by Laura Gardin Fraser, the coin was entered in a design contest for the quarters to replace the SLQ. Her design came in 2nd behind the Flanagan design.
