There will always be people who feel Brand X is better than Brand Y, so you must judge the coin on its own merit. That being said, I do agree that anything in an ICG holder will be far more difficult to sell at grade value when compared to PCGS or NGC. I also have no interest in purchasing anything in an ICG slab. The only exception would be if I truly felt that it would cross to PCGS at close enough to the same grade as to not kill the value.
No, of course not--it wouldn't come back a 67, but would it have a good chance at coming back at a 69? That would remain to be seen.
I was just saying every proof ive seen in an icg slab has been pr70 lol in comparison to how few are in pcgs and ngc slabs id say the majority are overgraded imo. Im not saying im right or wrong its just my opinion.
Inconsistency , that's always been the problem with ICG , PCI , NTC & maybe 1 or 2 others. They always bring less money when reselling but bargains can be found when buying ... although it's hit & miss. PCGS & NGC are also inconsistent at times but the overall results are a better return when you sell. People on this board will always say " buy the coin & not the slab" .. but that's never that easy. Sometimes you win & sometimes you will lose , and you will almost always will hear about the winners & not the losers .. but all of us have seen them both !
Darn good book , everyone should read the 1st part about how they market grade coins , and basically changed their grading standards to fit in with the prices being paid at the time . A definite must read book , and then read it again .
Thats a retarded and uneducated statement ICG offers a no fee minumum grade. If you specify a minumum grade and the coin doesnt meet that grade you dont get charged. Many dealers use this since theres no risk. Thetll submit a thousand coins at a time and only want ms70, hence why you you only see ms70 in ICG holders, not overgraded but rather bulk submission with a minimum grade
What? That has to be total chaos. Your asking ICG to cherry pick for you? Is that not giving them a huge financial incentive to find lots of MS70 coins? And then how would you disagree? Mandy
