My guess would be that a dealer would give you about $2,000 for it. As it looks in nice grade and the cleaning isn't harsh. But it would still hurt the value. Nice coin!
Thanks Duke. Never know what value could be with a non-grade label on the slab. Is there a rule of thumb to follow in situations like this?
I think MS63 is a little steep. 1889 cc's typically have pretty sharp strikes so I wouldn't call that spot on the hair a weak strike. I would say AU details. Here is a recent auction of an 89cc, pcgs genuine AU details. Realistically, I think this coin has more eye appeal than the present coin, but still think your coin has a retail value of about 2,100 to 2,250. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1169&lotNo=5613 Mike
I'm certainly no expert but I think valente's price is about right. It's a nice looking coin for sure. Umm, yes? Depends on the car. My brother (lives in Texas) bought a new-from-the-dealer Corolla for almost exactly 1/2 price because of hail damage to the hood, roof, and trunk lid. Dealer replaced the windshield. $7500 for a commuter car that will (most likely) last 200k miles or more is a good deal. No factory warranty but who cares, it's beyond that now anyway.
