I don't see how it being CAC makes it nicer, just more solid...it's ok.

To me there are more lustorous examples of 66's, plus the pics are not that good

Could just be poor photos not highlighting the luster. And FB designation makes mercs a lot more desirable.

It just means it's a stronger strike...i'd much rather have more luster

It's possible that, in hand, that one has both. But it'd require a gamble.

I'd go for it, the price seems reasonable.

    pcgs list price is 60 for a ms66fb its 45 bucks for a ms65fb.

Personally id never pay much of a premium for a coin without pics that I could tell what quality it was.

And that $60 is starting bid, not a BIN. No doubt because another paid service agrees with the label from the first paid service.

All I know is unless your coin is basically heavily under graded you are lucky to get even 75% of the NGC or PCGS prices on many more modern coins.

I start all my graded auctions at 30%-70% of the NGC or PCGS price depending on who graded the coin. Id say only 15% sell the first week up. Others can take many weeks, even months to sell if they ever do at all.

It would be a good buy at $53.00, but I wouldn't go much higher.

Two bids would wipe that out in a hurry considering where the seller started the auction price at.

Yeah I think the pics aren't that good. I personally don't want to buy it because of that. I'm looking at other MS 66 mercs as well to buy instead. Thanks for all the replies!

I threw a bid on the original coin. Probably wouldn't go much higher, I've already got a '44-S in 66FB that I paid $51 and change for that is a nice coin, imho. Generally speaking, I've found CAC Mercs to be pretty good coins. :) Toss in 7 day return policy, it's a no-brainer for me.

I don't have any problem with this coin for under $55. The Old green holder makes it more appealing to me, mainly since I tend to think the market does better on them if I ever needed to sell. If I had to have this coin to keep I'd bid up to $55. The pics aren't good but I can tell the coin is quite nice and solid. I'm not sure why someone would pay for CAC stickering but it's there and adds price support. Go for it!
