They make their money on shipping, kinda like Apmex.

I remember when apmex had a 24 hour "sale" on silver bullion.

99 cents over spot....until you went to the checkout and saw they wanted $12.95 for shipping.

Backordered and it's processing, probably to verify you're credit card on file is good before they actually charge you the actual amount the proof set is going to cost. Trust me, you're likely not getting the Proof set for 99 cents.

The Mint's just taggin' your credit card to see if it works Poppa. This way they know who they can trust (subscription wise) on game day.......

Gotcha. Didn't really think I was gonna get 'em for a penny. Thought it was funny though.

Yea, I'm not seeing that 2012 complete sets are listed yet. Did they have then up then take it back down after realizing the pricing error???

Me too. :) I started a tongue in cheek thread on my experience, regarding the same thing, a few days ago.

The folks who have subscriptions for the product always get first crack at it. The mint's just letting us know that game day will be soon upon us.....

By selling below face value (assuming its the full set) they are pulling a fast one and profiting on shipping? The scoundrels!

If you just want to buy an ounce or two, simply go elsewhere. Ever seen what Kitco charges?
