Matt; Your 1914 S Cent is just gorgeous. All the time you spent searching for one paid off. The luster is incredible. You must have been so stoked to finally find a Cent in the grade you were seeking. I just wanted to let you know that you made an excellent choice and congratulate you on your new acquisition.
Hello Petronious; I have several encased coins and do agree with you on their conductibility and allure. I know of a few collectors who have a vast amount of them in their collections. I like them because they are usually relatively cheap and affordable and make nice conversation pieces. I know that some of them encase older Cents and a few can get kind of pricey depending on the Cent that is displayed. Good luck in your future endeavors with encased Cents.
Yes CoinGuy-Matthew; I would say that finding a 1916 D Cent in circulation is an exceptional find, but its value is probably only a couple of dollars, it that. It makes a nice filler in your cent album though. Congratulations on your discovery!
Nice proofs! I'd say wingedliberty is creating his own competition as there can't be enough killer early proofs to go around. I hope you guys keep posting them anyway. Matt
Thank you Really, I don't know which could be a right price for these tokens. I paid € 5 ($ 7) and I think it may be a bit expensive, but I liked it, and just for one the price is not a problem. petronius :smile
Just picked up this $10 eBay PR Lincoln a week or so ago. This and 12 other toned proof Lincoln eBay purchases are on the way to PCGS for grading and TrueViews. I'll have plenty to post in about a month.
Here are some crappy Lincolns with nice toning. I am just happy I had an epiphany with imaging, and can now capture the colors.
Thank you. It was a NGC MS61 and I did a crossover with PCGS and got AU58. When I sent it to CAC I was hoping for the gold sticker.....but got the green.
I hate when that happens. I have a shipment that I'm getting ready to have crossed over to a few PCGS holders for my type set. Hopefully they will have the same opinion of the coins as NGC did.
Bought today for $4.00 im just curious if it was to be graded assuming it doesnt get body bagged what would it grade???? Beautiful rainbow toning though....
Hello Petronius; Most encased cents go for a dollar or so here in Seattle, Washington, USA. I do think you paid a little too much for your encased cent, but as long as you like it, that is all that matters. As I said, the prices of encased cents usually go up the older they get. Once in a while one may find a semi-key or key cent in its enclosure. There are countless types of enclosed cents, as it was used for advertising for many years. I hope you will be able to find more enclosed cents in your travels. Good luck!
Woah, I haven't checked this thread in months and I come back to see that it has 62 pages! All glorious pennies!
