When your out hunting and trying to hit as many banks as possible and people are driving slow and being idiots. It's even worse when you're not finding any silver. I found myself yesterday having a bad day silver wise, and I was swearing at people and talking to myself as I'm driving around and people are holding me up from getting to the next bank. Traffic lights seemed like they took forever and the little things just seemed to get under my skin very easily. It would not have been a problem had I scored a bunch of silver coins I'm sure.

I know it's childish, but I guess I'm just a kid at heart. I'm to go pound some sand now.

Yeah, I've noticed myself road raging a lot, particularly when I go out coin hunting during the day and get stuck behind little old ladies on the road AND in line at the bank.

It's a sure sign of addiction when my irritability dissipates and my mood noticeably improves after picking up a box of change...

It doesn't seem as though driving around to multiple banks trying to score boxes of coins in search of silver would be a winning proposition. I can see picking up boxes of coins from your own bank, you have to go there every once in a while anyway. But considering the gas money and time used to drive all over town, the time used to search the coins, not to mention the hassle of then dumping all of the coins, I find it hard to believe that enough silver would be found to make up for it all. Seems like a person would be better off just taking that gas money and buying some junk silver, at least you would be guaranteed to have something in the end.

It's just something that I think about. I know that it's a hobby, and the financials are not the most important thing. Kinda like all the times I get skunked when I go fishing, I think about all the fish I could have bought at the supermarket with the money that I spent on the trip. But of course, it just wouldn't be the same.

Some days you are correct, on the other hand if you have a car that's good on gas and you have a good score, your covered. I've had bad days when I've found only enough silver to cover the gas for the car, I've also had days where I've come home with a smile on my face. What is the fun in buying silver when you can hunt for it and get it at face value?

There are people in the "Gold" branch of my Gem and Mineral Society that spend a whole day and $100 on food and gas to find $50 worth of gold. It is clearly good exercise for them and very satisfying to watch their show and tell of a few flakes in a tube. If they were cursing and mumbling,or endangering themselves but kept going, I would think they need to alter their life.
