yeah but... How much stuff is the Perth Mint putting out? They are challending the Franklin Mint. I just got a bear.
Come on, man. Let's keep this a factually correct board. A koala is not a bear; it's a koala. It is not even closely related to a bear.
I notice that they have have have a lot of stuff, but I went for the UHR probley the only coin I'll ever buy from them
This might be a minority opinion, but I don't think having a lot of variety is necessarily a bad thing. Some of the coins are very attractive and a person has the ability to decide whether to purchase them or not. I like having a larger item pool. Although I like some of the products of the U. S. Mint, I have often been disappointed by the fact their coins, for the most part, are pretty much "same song, different verse."
some countries are now churning out so much crap it is totally devaluing the hobby...............................
Always get a Kangaroo and Kookaburra each year. If they're are any High-Relief Kangaroos stick in stock in 3 weeks time I'll get one. I have hit my coin purchasing quota this month I think.
Quick question; what was the first year of minting for the 1/10 silver koala's? I think 2011 but am not sure and cannot find it...
We wish to advise despatch of your order ....so now it's on it's way...I wonder how long it will take to get to PA Maybe I'll send it off to PCGS and get that "Early Release" tag
Silver Content (Troy oz) 1 Monetary Denomination (AUD) 1 Fineness (% purity) 99.9 Minimum Gross Weight (g) 31.135 Maximum Diameter (mm) 32.60 Maximum Thickness (mm) 6.00
I've been wanting to pick up a Koala or a Kookabura for a while, but I just can't convince myself to pay so much over spot for them. While the low mintages and ever-changing varieties are a bit maddening to me as a collector, I have to admit that whoever is running the Perth mint seems to be a good judge of what the market will bear.
I think if you go to the big silver dealers that you can get koalas fairly close to a low percentage over spot.
