2 1979 susan b anthony wide rim near date coins?

my father pulls out a tin with kennedy halves and susan b's and so on. did i score 2 of the wide rim near dates?

Can we get full coin pictures as well? This is not shwing me enough to see wide rim SBA

 

Based on those photos, My opinion is they are not the wide rim. here is an example; notice the shorter distance between the 19 and the rim.

 

The "wide rim" is fairly easy to spot. The date on the bottom of the coin is almost touching the rim. I have two of them and they appear to be closer to the rim than the ones you have shown. But as stated we would need a full picture of the coin to really tell. I wouldn't want to speculate and give you the wrong information.

 

ok here are comparison photos. the first 2 pics are of the susan b narrow rim. the 3rd and 4th are of what i believe is the wide rim near date. ( actuallu i was wrong, i found a third? so for 3 bucks did i make a good deal?

I am betting on # 3 making the grade. #4, not so much but I see why you say that, again would need in hand to give #4 the green bird green light.. LOL It could very well be, I tried to enlarge it and I had some problem it turned the whole screen black and sat there fat dumb and happy I suspect!

O.K. got it to co-op for me. I see the close date on it but the rim just does not make a wide rim. Is it off set because I have never seen a full coin to see the full rim.

Maybe it is struck low left and the rim is oversized upper right at the 1 o'clock. It would have to be because the rim skallop at 7 is way to close to the edge.

 

The wide rim variety actually has nothing to do with the width of the rim. It is much more important to look at the distance from the 1 to the rim. If that distance is LESS than the width of the upright of the 1 then it is the near date/wide rim. You can't use the width of the rim to judge because the width of the rim can vary due to centering of the die. I have seen "wide rim" coins with very narrow rims, and "narrow rim" coin with very wide rims. But the distance from the 1 to the rim remains constant no matter how the dies are centered.
