seeing all these nice british and empire coins is making me feel like starting collecting again.................i have completed the sale of my collection and it realised in total £1,200,000, but i am getting itchy fingers again. keep it going.
Nothing impressive really, but I bought three Mexican Libertads. One for each of my kids. They will inherit a pile of Silver Bullion coins when I eventually tip over. Mostly Silver Eagles of course, but I want to get one of each of the various foreign bullion coins for them too. (Libertads, Brittanias, Kookaburas, Koalas, Pandas, Philharmonics, already have Maples, but I'd like some of the new wild animal series, etc) Once I get at least three of all the mainstream bullion coins, I might move into the 1 Oz. coins from smaller countries. Fun! Fun! Fun!
Where did you get the libertads? I see them pretty cheap on provident metals but I can`t buy from them You have a nice idea of investing, diversity helps!
My local coin shop got about 10 BU Libertads in. I bought three of them for $4.50 over spot, which is their standard price for 1 Oz silver bullion coins.
yes i spent most of my life putting together one of the best collections of english civil war coins in the world with some extremely rare siege coins from towns such as scarborough, newark, pontefract and carlisle. some of that collection has been bought by one of the museums in the uk. mind you it enabled me to buy a classic jaguar ss100..................
I added this one to my collection this week, and just got a chance to image it. While the seller's images were by no means what I would call "bad", the coin is just amazing in hand. FAR nicer than the eBay pictures made it look. It has a stunning iridescence on both the obverse and reverse. I'm very happy with the coin in hand. Here are the eBay seller's images: Here are my images taken today:
Latest grab the coin wasn't in the best condition (was in plastic flip so it had some residue) but it makes' nice complement to my 10 Franc.
