I think there are sellers that make things suck but I do not think ebay it's self sucks. I have gotten good deals on there on things other than coins but also on coins.
No, I like their site, rules, etc. Everyone wishes for lower fees, but I don't sell much anyway. When I do, I get more than if I try locally, so the fees are inconsequencial. Where else could I buy a 60+ct. rhodonite crystall, 120 ct. Petalite crystal ( facet grade ( it is said by new age people to attract angels ) or a 40CT GOLD BERYL facet grade crystal all in one week? And less than $85 +7shipping. My only complaint is that I can't sell human remains as easily as before, even though I bought them on eBay more than 10 years ago. Jim
this is a good start. I suppose that the Desert has numerous human remains from the Indian villages in the rocks etc. If you brought an Inca mummy you can't sell it on ebay even if it is ANACS certified? You can sell a kidney in the open section here.
No these remains all had certified beginnings with Scientific supply houses as anatomical specimens. We would never touch a natural remains from the desert or elsewhere ( not even animals). The border patrol and the county medical is notified immediately when someone says they found a body.
I think that some coins are overpriced there. I posted an auction I was winning here and people said that the coin is AG to G and should be only bought at melt. They did say not to go higher than $6.50 which I wouldn't. What do you think? Should I buy it? Problem is I contacted the seller about cancelling three times and haven't got a response. I will buy the coin but would like to hold off. http://www.ebay.com/itm/180868945173?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I don't think Ebay's fees are high, Paypal's are though if you sell a low cost item. I sold a penny for $1.54 and Paypal took 20 cents. With Ebay fees, the fees totaled 22%
ROLF - just to ask.... Ahh... what kind of anatomical specimens are you collecting? ...oye I had to spell anatomical.
Try and train Nurses, Chiropractors,Dentists, DO, etc, with plastic models rather than actual bone skulls and skeletons. Yes, plastic has come a long way, but they are all pressed out of the same mold The actual bones show differences which the medical practitioners must be aware. I had to buy my own, but now retired, they are in safe places. Artists also are a group that have historically used anatomical material. But I digress from your original post, although I do wonder why this frantic outburst of inflammable topics from you?
Oh they are not inflammable or even flammable... They are well thought out and important topics that need immediate attention. I've given a lot of consideration to this. Ruben
I am not sure whether you are saying that ebay sucks and I should suck, too, or that ebay sucks and i should think it sucks, too. So my first complaint is that ebay has developed into a company whose business model fosters hate and discontent among both buyers and sellers.
eBay is far from perfect and at times their cavalier attitude towards sellers is perplexing but could you imagine returning to the good old days of buying coins maling lists. For all it's many faults coin collecting without eBay would be a very different and less populat hobby.
You have to wonder about ebay. I brought a dime for 1.50 and it was terrible and tried to return it and the seller refused to take it back.
Ebay does NOT own NGC. Yes there are some sellers who make Ebay bad, IMO there are many more who make it good. Yes they have fees, they are a business. Are they too high ? To any one selling yes,but that answer has always been the same. I dont care if they are the monopoly for lower end coins. They have what I want & that is the broadest customer base. Id rather have 100 people see my coins & only 2 bid than have 3 people look at them in person & do nothing most of the time. It is what it is ,join the party & dont complain or start a thread on a discussion board & beat a dead horse some more.
