I ordered the $5 gold proof the day it became available and it was delivered today.
The USPS left it laying on my doorstep though :(
    Absolutely gorgeous coin.

AGE are nice coin but my one wish is they update their design yearly like the Pandas' to create some uniqueness and also makes' it hard to counterfeit.

I had oe of them once. They were so waffer small, I found them largely unappealing, especially since the design wasn't created to be so small. Maybe that is why there is no picture?

Yeah, but the mint holder makes 'em look larger. :) I remember the first time I ordered 1/10 oz. and 1/4 oz from Mint products back about 7 years ago. I was very disappointed with the size. I really didn't have a clue as to how large/small they were till they arrived, but in reality it was the Saint Gaudens obverse I wanted to add to the collection. I just couldn't afford a double eagle Saint at the time. You've gotta love the strolling visage of Liberty headed right at ya......:)

    Gold eagle 1/10 = 16.5 mm i think

    My 1999 rabbit 1/20 = 14.3 mm

Now that's a small gold coin!

I've always liked the small indian head better.

Well after 26 years, it's a miracle the darned thing even showed up, let alone that it was left for you at all after such a delay. Good thing you never changed your address in all those years that you've been waiting for it to arrive, or you'd have been hosed for sure!

...We are talking about the 1986 Proof 1/10th $5 AGE aren't we...

Yeah, but I'm not holding out for pictures of the coin... nor should Ruben, that's my advice.

But hey! Since I use smiley icons now, everything's da bomb! :thumb:

Heck, the 1/10 strikes up very nicely indeed. If I can remember (bourbon) I'll post a few pics in da AM.......:)

Indeed they do strike nice coins, and aplenty, suitable for the Mint and dealers charging higher premiums on smaller coins.

Well, I've two or three proofs and one bullion. I'm amazed that these things did so well in appreciation down the road. I never expected that. But that's not the reason I bought 'em. I bought 'em for the design and it was all I could afford at the time.....
