Thanks, I see what you mean. What would you expect to pay for this coin in a retail setting? Just want to see if I did alright. I was trying to be conservative when I was buying it so in my mind I was thinking VF25. You also didn't mention that it looked cleaned which I was a worried about as well. Unless that's what you think caused the hair lines?
Hairlines doesn't necessarily mean a cleaning, it could have been a light wipe. Either way, I could see a dealer asking 30-40 for that coin.
I understand, thank you. I paid $30 so I didn't do too awful I guess. Thanks again Log Potato :thumb:
I love it. The Barber Quarter is my favorite of the barber series. The natural grey look is right on target, and reverse is so strong.
Thanks a lot! I really like it too. It's actually my first Barber. I have been mostly a half and dollar collector. I have some modern quarters however. Definitely going to start collecting more Barbers and older if money permits.
I am thinking between a VF25 and VF30. It is a real nice coin, the reverse is much better than the obverse. That whole wreath around the head thing as is the usual down fall for many coins... That wear is just a little over the line. The liberty looks all intact so only the stuff around the ear pulls it down. Nothing to be ashamed of!
