Can Anyone Tell me if this 1957 D is Machine Doubling or Double Die? I am not experienced enough to tell the difference on this one. Thanks

A very good example of MD. Study it and you will be able to easily see it in the future.

Machine doubling and die deterioration doubling are fairly common on the 50's and 60's cents. Unless it's a monster 55, then there's no mistaking those ;)

    Or a '72 DDO 001 or a '95 DDO. Those are fun!

You know what makes them fun? Finding them in regular old pocket change.

Or like with my 95 DDO, getting one for free :)

Some serious deterioration in the E Pluribus on the back as well, not wear, Die plugging up as best I can tell and there by the "L" is gone and the "U" is almost gone! These dies were well used by this strike.
