Just wanted to let our currency collectors know that tomorrow's new "Pawn Stars" will feature a segment on Currency from the Republic of Texas at the 10pm time period on the History Channel.

That guy was ridiculous, and had the nerve to say the expert didn't know what he was talking about.

Since I know nothing about this, I was wondering who was right. $650k seemed ridiculous. Rick's expert seemed to know what he was talking about but the prices were so off, I wondered what was going on. Guess you guys confirmed my suspicion that the seller was a little delusional.

Its not surprising what people think their stuff is worth, but how much they pay for it is.

That is a definite "read" for anyone interested in this individual. I'm suprised he went so public with his notes. I would guess there maybe many loose ends, that still need to be addressed, from his past.

So, a known dealer is really going to walk into a pawn shop in vegas and expect to get top dollar on rare notes?

IDK if the show is soft scripted, but that is just bogus. I thought a couple of experts in antique roadshow got fired for doing such a thing. Makes me sick, and if I hadn't sworn off this show before I have now. Its one thing to have a show soft scripted, but the sellers should be real people not dealers looking for their 15 minutes of tv fame. Did you read the other part in the CU thread where a currency dealer had his gf as the seller, and he was the expert appraising the notes for Rick.

You would think there would be fraud charges against the show for lying to their viewers like that.

Yeah, obviously we now know that was lie since he's willing to sell it for $500k, or best offer.
