    I am not a fan of V-Nickels --

But that piece could change my mind!

    That is a beauty.

I agree with that. Are the details in the previous one more crisp than this one? The photos for me don't enlarge the same for me so perhaps its just an artifact of a larger photo or it could be the color.

I like your 2nd choice that you just posted.

    Two new ones for me.

1903-P - wasn't sure about the coin but I like it and the price was right for me.

1900-P - Seller photos - I'll try my hand when it arrives

  5. Mike, I think this coins looks a lot better than the other 40. Although, that could be a product of the two sellers' photographs. I think the 40 above has solid 40 details and the other one looks a bit soft for a 40. Just my 50 cents. :D

  6. I think you will be surprised with that 1900, Yacorie. The detail on that reverse yells strong 35 to me. Looks like the perfect crusty look we all like.

    Jim,
I think the 1st 1904-S imaged was a borderline 40and the seller thought
it could upgrade to a 45. Never in a million years. The surfaces are smooth
but a prior dipping that wasn't rinsed properly was the main reason I had to
return it. The newest 04-S has the same amount of details - again, it's a solid
40 and this seller made no apologies for its lack of details. The coin is original
and I know it's a much better fit in my set.

There will be another 1/2 dozen XF 45's coming soon. Once I decide if these are
a go or not, I'll post some more images. All I can say is that I know I have been on
a tear as of late, but when these coins present themselves , you have to act, and quickly.

Out of the half dozen coins that would have been upgrades,
here are the two that I decided to pick up. Although the others
were nice - I thought they were minimal for the grades.

Just pulled the trigger on this 92s. It's always a bit of a risk when buying on eBay with photos like this, tough to make out the details on the reverse, but I've had good luck with this seller in the past. No questions asked returns w/in 7 days, and I've never returned one of their coins.

I'll post my own photos when she arrives. down to 3 coins to finish my Barber Half set.

    RB,

Very attractive coin , and I had no idea you were so close
to completing your collection. Best of luck and if I can be of
any help, feel free to ask.

Picked this up for $28 on the bay, how did I do?

  19. The pics seem a bit grey, but looks like VF20 maybe even 25. I would be anxious to see the coin's true color. For a VF20, I say dang good job. It's a more available date, but I would buy nice VF barbers at 28$ any day. I think you did a heck of a job.

Here are lighter pics, this is true to the actual color of the coin. Appears to be original, I was scouring for a nice, original piece. And honestly, I didn't think it would be anywhere near close to what I paid for it. All in all, good pick up, nice win!

I think for $28 - you did very well. The stain on the obverse - at star 3 bothers me -
but for a raw book - that's a nice coin.
