Because the ones listed on eBay are the listing setting the bar level for Doug to find cheaper than from any dealer. Seriously? Your comprehension is lacking on this one. Any eBay listing that YOU yourself, made from your eBay store, should not be included in this test between you and Doug because YOU can manipulate the price in those listings because YOU wrote them. It would be no different that Doug having a coin store with a website, or even a B&M shop with a website and changing the prices on his website for every 1943 S NGC MS67 War Nickel to prove his point. Do you get the point now ? How about as an interested third party to the debate wanting to make sure that this is not being manipulated in anyway by either of you. However, Doug doesn't have a coin shop or B&M store with a website so no worries about him trying to juice this in his favor. BTW, you might be taken a lot more serious in debates as these if you would simply grow up and not resort to childish behavior and bring name calling into every debate, as you have consistently and constantly do every time.
I thought it was because you were married. I just want to interject three things. 1) Yes - you argued with me like that over the MS70 coins, which BTW is OBVIOUS AND YOU WERE WRONG. 2) Doug has over 30,000 posts (while being old as dirt, but you should respect that and realize it is a great asset and that older people do NOT need to prove every sentence from their vastly expanded experience) 3) Doug has a sea of knowledge about coins Ruben
Does $18 qualify as cheaper? http://www.vcoins.com/us/wng/store/listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idcategory=26&curPage=2
You are the one who has a problem with reading comprehension BN. Under description in every E-Bay listing is the phrase "Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing". Right under that it shows the last time the listing was updated and provides a link that shows the details of every update on the listing. Here are the updates for my listing: Now it is obvious that the last time I changed the price of this coin was April 4th, long before this thread ever existed. If I change the price of the coin, it will be there for everyone to see. So tell me genius, how can I control the price of the coin without everyone knowing that I did it? There is no way for either of us to manipulate the debate and you know it. And for the record, I don't care at all what you think of me, or what you consider childish behavior. Personally, I consider your personal compulsion to try and prove me wrong childish but I love watching you fail miserably at it.
Wow, you really don't know how to read do you? That $18 nickel is not graded MS67 by NGC, it is listed as raw and GEM Uncirculated. But thank you for proving my point from my previous post.
Doug said any coin, and you agreed to that. That is a 1943S War Nickel, yours is a 1943S War Nickel. The seller in states MS65, it could go higher who knows. Case closed. You lose!
BU, You have got to be kidding, I mean really, man to man, you are making yourself look foolish. Take a step back, read what you said, then Man-up, admit your mistake and people will respect that. Mike
MR B It seems like you are saying, " cut the man some slack" Well in this case, that doesn't seem to me to be the moral thing to do. See, you are correct, Doug has a lot of knowledge, and a lot of folks take Doug's word on things. So if people just take the statement at face value, it will cost them money and that is wrong. Now EBAY is not for everyone, and it is a Shark Tank, but I think some tips and warnings about the 'Bay, so folks can learn to navigate it's waters to get a good deal, would be a bit better than saying almost every coin can be bought cheaper from a dealer. Most of us are here to learn, and learning is difficult when the info is bad. So NO, the man does not deserve to be cut some slack. Mike
Who cares at this point. Find the best deal to buy what you're looking for, whether it's on eBay or from a dealer. There's no reason for the p-issing contest which this thread has sadly turned into. The only way to see who is the real winner is by whipping it out to see who's biggest!
On that note, I have all said everything that I have to say and I am backing out. Plus there is no way I could win Rodeo's contest. Mike
Hello This has become an interesting experiment in the long term affects of social interaction deprivation outside of the internet. I would ask someone for an accounting of how many threads of arguing is happening at this juncture. Amanda
Hello This is another unexpected tern of events. Increasingly this sounds like how World War I began. Within 6 months, nobody know why they were at war or with whom they were at war with. Amanda
