PCGS has graded only 5040 of these and NGC has graded only 9690 of these.
Any speculation as to why these coins are not being sent in greater numbers for grading?
    Thanks.

Might be because there are very few collectors of them. Paying for grading and selling for less than grading cost lead to bankruptcy.

  4. My gut feeling is that because these are not widely distributed we will not see many circulated examples, which means that many of these will be purchased directly from the US Mint in the uncirculated set or in rolls, bags, etc. and therefore most will grade quite high anyway. Given the cost to grade them in addition to the cost to buy them at a premium over face value, many people may just be holding onto them and waiting to see what happens with this series. TC

I notice, too, that only an extreme few have graded higher than MS67.

Is it because most of the obverses have such weak reliefs, as do the 2010 and 2011 Lincoln cents?
