Whew, that's a beaut. I see from the link, it looks like you took the shot on one of Marc Adamus's tours.

How was the tour? Was it all in the field or did Marc go over his PP skills also?

How was he as a teacher?

Thanks for the comments everyone! This was my first attempt at night shooting; I was pretty happy with the results.

Mike- I would highly recommend one of Marc's tours. Not only did he give some great instruction, he even whipped up an incredible dinner out at the Joshua tree location. (He trained to be a chef if you did not know.)

We were in the field--Bishop (Owens Valley), Mono Lake, Alabama Hills, and Death Valley-- every day. He went over his PP techniques twice--once in a hotel lobby and once in a bar in Furnace Creek :) I was exhausted at the end of the tour. As I told him, it was worth the price of admission for me just to learn his PP techniques. You should definately go if you can.

Beautiful shot you have there as well!

That's awesome! And I bet most people don't realize that my home state is probably the best place for spelunking :D

    Kasia,

Nice pic of Delicate Arch. I also have good news for you about the arch. It didn't collapse.

Wall arched collapsed in 2008 and then on 4/1/2010 an Internet rumor/hoax started about the collapse of Delicate Arch. There was a phony press release and even a photoshopped pic of the collapsed arch.

Someday it will collapse but for now, all is good and it is still standing:)

    Cheers,
    Mike

Good to know. Wall Arch collapsed in 2008, and Natural Arch in 2010. That's the one that I read it was Delicate arch, but looking back, it seems they were saying the natural arch was delicate. Wow. Edited my post to take that out.

I liked you picture of the Delicate Arch. I went looking for my pictures from Arches and The Wave at Paria Canyon, UT and then realized I shot film back then. That was about ten years ago, and now all my negatives and photos are obsolete.

Just need to find a good way to get them digitized, that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

Thanks. Utah is an amazing state for natural beauty. If you find a way to digitalize at a reasonable price let me know. I stayed with film until about 2006 also.

It's not all about your equipment, it's about what you know about photography.

The image is an HDR image.

Thanks. Didn't know that. I will have to do that with some of mine in the future.
