4 boxes of dimes: 1 very bent rosie
    1 box halves: 1 90% ken, and 5 40%ers! it's about time I didn't get a skunk half dollar box :)

going on a road trip tomorrow morning to pick up $1500 CWR halves that a teller of mine has been saving up for me, these usually have a good amount of silver in them too! :)

OK. I know this is my third post today but i went to my dump bank to dump all the nickels i went through today and the teller noticed i was dumping nickels instead of halves. I told her yeah halves have been bad to me so im giving them up for a while. she proceeded to reach under her drawer and pulled out a shiny new 1968 s. Much to my surprise she sold it to me for face value :). all in all a good day for silver. guess i'm not throwing in the towel after all. I'm pumped up to keep searching. Sometimes it pays to be completely honest with the tellers in what your doing. Now she's gonna CALL me anytime she see's silver come through her teller line! I wish all banks had people like this working for them.

1 box of BWR dimes -skunk, 1 box of CWR dimes - skunk, I picked up $260 CWR halves which I knew was someone elses dump and I found 1/40%. I will make sure to check them the next time that I find them. My daughter is finishing off of a box of nickels right now. I found 1 war, and a 1929 Buffalo. Not sure yet what she has found.

I have a theory with BOA and their generous coin ordering policy. Since they are such a huge bank they can absorb the costs of ordering so many boxes just for CRHs. Also from what I think is true, atleast I don't use them at all for a dump, is they don't really accept large coin deposits, and if they do it's a huge hassle for the customer, so customers tend to not dump at BOA. Any BOA I've been to does not have coin machines, whether that's in the lobby for the customer to personally use, or behind the counter run by tellers only. So if they do accept coins it's only rolled. So for convieance purposes all these CRHs will dump at another bank altogether. This will slow down the other banks having to deal with changing bags, breakdowns on machines, and just dealing with high volumes of CRHs overall and having to haul all of their change around. So whatever slows downs other Banks is good, meanwhile BOA is up and running smoothly, and customers will have good rapport with staff, as opposed to some other banks that are mean to CRHs that dump on them. Basically BOA is willing to help CRHs to inconvienance their competition. I think.

Maybe I'm way off, and that's quite a conspiracy theory, LOL. But I think I may be on to something.

I will start by introducing myself. I am Unc Walker's wife and I go by Always a Lady. I told Unc Walker I wanted to write our story tonight. We usually search 4 boxes of half dollars a week. We went and picked up our 4th box today. Unc Walker found the the 1st silver ( walker) then I found a 64 ken and then they just kept coming.. When we finshed the box, we ended up with 3 walkers, 7 64 ken, 1 67 ken.. total of 11 sliver halfs.:yes:I was kind of disappointed when there were nomore rolls to search..:D Unc Walker and myself are having a blast with this hobby even though we do run across a few stinky boxes. We both enjoy doing this together and have alot of fun doing it... Good luck with your hunting and I hope everyone finds silver...

A 1968 S what? Nickel? No silver in that.
You'd think that this would halt CRHs from dumping there, but I'm not sure. I'm constantly finding dumps at every kind of bank around here: Chase (who always orders coin for me, since they do a lot of business transactions), PNC, Fifth Third. This is in an area where you're never more than 5 or 10 miles away from a TCF Bank, in which every branch has a coin counting machine. And the minimum savings balance is only $100. It's silly not to dump at TCF, but I'm always finding dumps at other banks.

Today was a record setter for me, and about a 1 year anniversary in Half Hunting

    3 boxes of halves:
    box 1 = skunk
    box 2 = 13 40%ers, 4 90%ers, 1 Frankie!
    box 3 = 1 Frankie

    New Records:
Most Silver coins in 1 box: 18. Old record was 13(twice)
Most 40%ers in 1 box: 13. Old record was 12
Most 90% Kennedys in 1 box: 4. Old record was 2 (a few times)

Also I finally filled my first roll of 1964 Kennedys, I needed 4 to do it, and 4 I got!
Also filled my 8 full roll of 40%ers, needed only 1, so now need to get that number 9 closed!

Oh and I did 1 box of Dimes tonight and found 2 Rosies.

I'm going to up my volume in 2 weeks to 4 boxes of halves/week. I have to get set up dump-wise first. **** I'd do as many boxes of halves as I could if dumping wasn't such an issue. i don't want to overload my current 4 main dump branches (all 1 bank). So I think it's time I finally open up with another bank, will probably be Chase.
    HH all!

I searched $50 in H's today, found a 1976s proof, bit of a scuff around the back of Kennedy's head and a oily print in front of his nose. Also got a 1966 40% . In the middle of the photo is a 1974s proof I pulled last month from $70 in H-searches, great condition, very pleased.

this is my first showing of coins i've pulled. The coins are in my Whitman folder, but I'm gonna sell the 66 as it is well circulated, I can't see keeping it. I now have a full roll of pulled 40% Kennedy's Anyone care to comment how I should keep the proofs, no point in selling em, I love both of them. But I think Whitman folder is okay for now. Any imput is appreciated.

Wow, lots of great finds today! Here's how we did:

$1000 bag of halves: four 64's, two 40%ers, about six NIFC (three were counter stamped "RC"), two pennies, a drink token, and a . . . house key?

Two boxes of halves: skunkola. Still, not too bad overall!

Im sorry, did you wrap coins at the bank? IOW , does the bank have you wrap their coins for them? I'd love to get in on a gig like this at my bank, take teller boxes and wrap up loosies and be able to pull silver and rare dates!

Any halves that came out after 1999 are "Not Intended For Circulation." I think I got that right, peeps?

4 boxes of halves this week and found 4 coins. 1 90% and 3 40%. Had a first this week. The first time I actually found a keeper in the last roll of a box. It was a gold plated '67 no less. Also a first.

I wonder if its possible to recover the gold from these gold plated coins I find. I could probably rub the plating off with my thumb on most of them it is so thin. But, I have a few that appear to be dipped with a bit thicker layer. I have a gold plated Eisenhower that has a pretty thick plating that I could get a bit of gold from if I knew the right way to do it.

  20. I did a box of nickels = skunk on silver but i did get a gem 56p a dateless buffalo
And on my way to the bank I stop at a pep boys and found a hot wheels superized. Those are hard to find just like silver coins lol good thing is that they go for around 30 on eBay so ill sale it and buy me a. Silver eagle with a couple dollars on top :hail:
