I began this thread with a primary question of whether it was my luck or was this known to be a common practice. A fair question I think for this forum. So far, I think I have been lucky to have so many views and other insight offered about what to expect from this TPG. An exchange of personal and professional information concerning anything is always a growing experience. I appreciate all input.

Many have suggested calling the company. Great advice and normally I would follow through. In this case, I am reluctant because I am afraid it may affect the grading. In a way, it’s like sending back food at a restaurant. You cannot be sure how it will return after you have complained. That’s why I didn’t call them in the first place. I always try to research as much as I can on about everything before I make any hasty decisions. My decision at this moment is to wait it out-get the notes back in hand-and then call and discuss the whole situation. Perhaps they can offer some plausible answer as to why they wrote and asked for money. I don’t know yet, but will update the forum as it plays out.

    Steve:

There is nothing wrong with a polite inquiry.

It is your right to inquire.

Besides, the submissions are 'supposed' to be without names, while they are grading.

I agree. Don't be afraid to call.

I don't think it would be any different ATS for you as they have a back log too I am told.
As for calling affecting the grades, I really doubt that would happen. They have never struck me as a company that would do stuff like that.
And as for why they would ask for money, I don't know they whole situation but at first I thought you complained about the wait and so they were just giving you options to get them faster (which is paying more). But after your later posts I think it might be a form letter that was sent to many people that are still in a long line of waiting for their "free submissions" and were just trying to be proactive. Although it seems to have back fired with you if that was what is was.

I concur with this approach. It's not like phoning an online retailer and asking where's the sweater I ordered, it's been 6 weeks. What can they do, lose the sweater? Big deal. This is a unique situation where no one knows what repercussions could be had. If there is a small chance some employee (think of Krispy answering the phone) sees you as a complainer, could the grades be affected? No one can say no, with certainty. You have shown why you are obviously successful, by thinking ahead.

Steve: Big difference here, compared to your restaurant scenario, is that this is a professional company with a written guarantee and their reputation for accurate grading, that you have decided to do business with. Just because you call to inquire will not cause them to demerit the grade of your notes. Sure enough, grading is subjective and one may find misgraded notes in holders from time to time or plain disagree with the grades given, hence the limited nature of the guarantee. Grading standards are something that are also published for your information on how they see things and arrive at grades and that is also your responsibility to learn the subtle differences that distinguish one grade from another. Knowing what the grades are and may be when you decide to submit a note is your own agreement to their definitions you can expect to receive in return for submitting notes for review.

In short, they are not going to spit in your food!

Steve, you will notice that many on this forum like to take swings at me when their soft ears interpret my words as having been harsh, but what you will also notice is that the level of my posts is significantly more informed, informative and adept at communicating what details were missed and may have effected the results you are experiencing from your submission. Compare this informative level to my critics as they would have others perceive me and they fall to the side on a regular basis, for theirs is idle banter and lazy at providing factual information in place of personally directed arguments at me for having posted. Lest we forget those who have judged me here are mainly a bunch of inexperienced paper collectors, that typically do not foray into this section of CoinTalk, the Paper Money threads, and they are the same bunch who have taken swings at me and plenty of others in the past. They will tire of their efforts until another time rolls around, as past performance has shown them to react towards my posts.

Similarly, there are a number of note collectors who have responded to this thread and haven't directed comment at me as they are aware of the terms of and time frames when waiting for submissions.

Steve, as you are new to this forum, please don't let this one thread demonstrate alone that my initial reply condemns you personally from here on out, far from it. Indeed, I would like to see what your submission yields when you have it back in your possession. Nor should this thread stand for anything other than being informative. It has in fact drawn out for you an abundance of readily available information about the submission process with PMG and helped throw a spot light on those here who lack knowledge of this company's submission process and terms in exchange for being argumentative with me for my ability to share it. Steve, while your original post appeared to fit the groove for any number of whiny complaints or OPs soliciting sympathy for your situation in a public forum, I think you understand, as you stated earlier, that not having done your homework, has caused your own distress over this matter.

Don't be afraid to call PMG and inquire about your submission, though now you are aware that not as many working days have yet transpired as you originally thought.

You have spun an absolute fantasy out of fear of the unknown! Please spare us the misinformation!

What's more you do not know me to name me in your fantasy of fear, as is evidence that you neglected reading my posts which detailed for the OP (and the other misinformed posts) why the the company (PMG) has been and continues to be painted in the wrong light by misinterpreting the lengths of submission times and general policy when submitting for services with this company.

Furthermore, what the OP has shown, is that he had not thought ahead, but instead explained how he felt pressured to sign up with PMG rather than read through the supposedly lengthy details of terms and conditions. Nor did he, prior to this forum thread, accurately understand the information provided by PMG in their web site, which he stated in the OP he had looked up before posting.

Any attorney who doesn't read and comprehend the terms of a contract, think of not knowing the laws before trying to defend a case, is not one you are likely to be successfully defended by.

You have failed to counter a single point that I made. Everyone gets, I believe you said, you are a college junior and have yet to enter the real world. Your attacks reek of childish immaturity . I find all of your posts to contain zero substance. Please find someone to help you make a valid argument, sans the childish name calling. I will rebut any educated, well reasoned adult responses, this obviously eliminates you.

Even though I didn't close the thread, May I remind all to stay civil to each other. Good!

    Thank you,
