Wow, Lance, that's my kind of coin! What a stunner! I say 45, but, just out of curiosity, what grade did PCGS slab on it? -Brian
Not too shabby? Let me get out my old leather jacket and then we'll talk shabby........ Beautiful addition to your collection Lance. 1818.....Official re-opening of the White House, Keats composes his sonnet, When I Have Fears, Congress decided US flag is 13 red & white stripes & 20 stars, Gen Andrew Jackson conquers St Marks Fla from Seminole indians, Netherlands & England sign treaty against illegal slave handling, Gen Andrew Jackson captures Pensacola Florida, 49th parallel forms as border between US & Canada, US & Britain agree to joint control of Oregon country, Russia's Czar Alexander I petitions for a Jewish state in Palestine, Illinois becomes 21st state, Silent Night composed by Franz Joseph Gruber, US & Chicasaw Indians sign a treaty........quite a bit of history you have with that piece dear fellow.
I've gotten sort of hooked on Morgans lately. This makes the 14th Morgan I've bought in the last 10 days. I think it's safe to say that my wife isn't exactly thrilled. haha.
Women. What the devil do they know? Except for the charming graces who frequent our forums.......
Damn! I hope that wasn't all from memory! LOL. Whew, I knew only a few of those events. PCGS gave it a 40, which I'm okay with. I'd much rather think my coins are under graded. Lance.
Very surprising! Certainly has the eye-appeal of a 45. What's your source for this purchase, Lance?... Because it just so happens that I'm looking for this very same overdate in this very same grade by this very same third-party grader! -Brian
Got a call from a friend I haven't seen in a while, he said as a late birthday present, he is sending me a 2012 Panda. Can't wait to get it, haven't seen one and don't plan on seeing one until I get mine
I took a $25 gamble on this raw Proof Lincoln. The reverse is shiny, unmessed with, and very colorful. The obverse has a few hairlines from a previous cleaning with more of a dull surface. If the obverse had the surface quality of the reverse, this would be a monster pickup.
