A decent 1917 (VG) Indian Head Nickel, a decent example (VG) of a SLQ, a good Merc Dime, a Franklin Half, a Barbara Quarter, and the rest I would sink into a Flying Eagle Cent.

What? No, you can still get 40% Ike's for around $10. ;)

I would recommend a Peace Dollar - the 1922's (w/o mint mark) are available at reasonable cost even to MS64 grade. For moderns the full set of copper Lincoln cents from 2009 stand out. While they are common they will be "looked up to" in years to come as unique. I would also look at the P-D-S war nickels.
