I have see the idea tossed around that liberty should be put back on coins, so I just wanted to see how this would turn out. The poll has the base answer, and an explanation.
This was a thread just very recently. Regardless, bring back Barber's Liberty! But only if it is struck in silver.
Shoot, I missed that. Very unrealistic idea, put some worthless zinc or something in the center, but then plate it with a small layer of silver.
bring back liberty! and while we're at it, copy the romans and bring in other designs based on american ideals, like equality and justice! put liberty on the quarter, equality on the dime, justice one the nickel, etc. i think that would be a nice idea.
I like the idea because it would take politics out of coins. no more fighting about which late great dead Pres to put on them. just make nice coins reflecting all of America.
i disagree. a seated liberty doesn't look like a winged liberty. nor does it look like liberty wearing a headdress as represented on indian head cents. one artist's impression of liberty may not be the same as another artist's impression of justice.
