Most people polish the flatware and also as flatware is used it looses it's "luster" like coins do. If you sent in a set of flatware to NGC or PCGS it would come back cleaned because of abrasions from teeth and such.
BTW - while we are on this topic, this is 4 very interesting pictures of our family heirloom Shabboth Candles Sticks that has been cleaned with Brasso for 250 years and you will notice that the brass has NO rust and also little of the original detail. Ruben
Maybe, but maybe not. You don't ever know for sure and there is no way to tell for sure. Not unless you can physically see something (a substance) sitting on the surface of the coin.
There have been many, many threads on the subject. But if you wish to discuss it again then please start a new thread.
Hi ! I myself kinda like the rainbow toning on coins, but that is just my opinion on the topic. I have a nice canadian 25 cent coin with tons of toning, does anyone here have any idea what the grade would be on it..
Being offered at 2 for 1 by Doug (plus shipping and handling), wouldn't it just be easier to buy them form him in order to clean your toned coins? Beats the heck out of spraying your rusty coins with Kryon all day for 10 months. Ruben
