I've taken a little time off CoinTalk lately, but it's good to see some things haven't changed. WingedLib still has some of the most stunning toners around. :thumb:
NGC usually gives GSA slabs a 1 point bump... well, did. They won't grade GSA slabbed coins any longer.
Really, nice to know I still have a touch. I tutored under Doug with Morgans for a long while (ie I nagged him to death and read everything I could). But why give the GSA's a bump?
I think that's an unfair generalization. I have seen many, many overgraded, undergraded, and correctly graded GSA slabbed coins. To say "usually" implies that it's the norm, which I don't believe to be true. Maybe a bit of the PCGS kool-aid speaking?
They won't? Seriously? Hmm... Always thought they just stuck with the old font for simplicity, but I suppose what you've said makes more sense. Guess it's up to ANACS now, you just recently started certifying GSA holders. Unfortunately, from the few examples I've seen, it looks like ANACS, like always, is being exceedingly generous with their grades. Does NGC still grade soft-pack GSA dollars? -Brian
Who said NGC stopped grading them? I have some friends just got some back. CAC stopped reviewing them but I have not heard anything about NGC changing.
Didn't win that last Morgan. I was under that impression that the bidding was over. I would have paid that price as well. Gosh D.
