I would say there's a very good chance it is. A couple of indicators that I see are the elongagated dot to the left of the E in the motto, the part of the bell (see arrows) and the wingtips of the eagle.

From your photo Top, I would say it appears to be; however, I would take it to a local dealer near you to examine it in hand for a better determination.

    Good luck :thumb:

TC, I am insulted that you would not even consult me on this. :p

Looks like you have a winner there! Congrats. :thumb:

I just sent three more into NGC for grading last week. I should have them back in within the month.

I honestly can't tell with all the white balance.

  11. Well I just won it on Teletrade for $33 + $8 buyers premium = $41, so I really hope it is the DDR variety. I had it for $15 until about 9pm and then a flurry of bids came in during the last hour, which makes me think at least someone else out there thought it was the DDR as well. No way a generic NGC MS 64 1959 Franklin would be bid up that high unless it was possibly the DDR variety. I placed a very high max bid on it so it was going to be mine. Now I just will have to wait and see what it looks like and will post better pics once I get it in hand. Thanks, TC

  12. Hey Joe: Good to see you posting here again and that you think this is the DDR variety. Let us know what NGC says about your Franklin DDRs. These are getting harder for me to cherrypick. Won this one off Teletrade tonight. If it actually turns out to be the DDR, I may send it off to NGC to get the variety attributed. TC

Hey somebody has to keep on eye on ya! LOL!

I have actually owned most of the NGC certified 59 DDR coins, but sold them all off with the exception of two. The first one is a MS 64FBL that NGC uses on their site to illustrate the 59DDR. It was the second FBL that they had graded of the variety. The second is a MS65 and was the first one graded that by NGC in that variety. THe three I sent in should all come back FBL and grade at least 65 or higher. I have cherried so many of these that now I only grab the high grade ones and leave the rest for everyone else. I did have the priveledge of selling one of my 65's on teletrade for over $600.....it cost me $15 to buy plus $25 in certification fees. Not a bad return on investment. You and I go way back on these varieties TC. Glad you cherried one!

  15. Yep, +$6 for shipping so $47 total. It would have cost me more in gas to drive to and from a show or a dealer to cherrypick anyway. :smile. I am one of the crazy few who loves hunting for this variety among some others as well. TC

Why you sneaky devil you!:D I thought you had the coin already. So we helped you with a cherrypick, huh?
Well it's the least I could do since you did turn us on to the good deal on the Army halfs.
    Congrats!

  17. Coin is now in hand. No doubt about the DDR now. :smile TC 20120424_080442685.jpg 20120424_080435691.jpg 20120424_080424962.jpg

TC so here is the pricing if you send it back to NGC.....
    Reholder Fee - $7.50
    Variety Attribution Fee - $12.50
    Service Fee - $8.00
    Shipping Costs - $12-16

I just sent a type B washington Quarter into them that was already graded by NGC and this is what they charged me. But I also sent it in as part of a bigger order.

Congrats BTW. That is a beauty!!!!
