Ok here is my new purchase, guess the grade. The pictures arent mine and doesnt show the luster the coin has.

 

I am still going 50/53. Tpg's do not like dark and they do not like woodies.

This came back as an MS63. In hand I think this is at least a 64 but what can you do, cant win them all. Still love the coin

 

Apparently, you have one of those AU-63 coins

 

The mailman came today - and I am back home. I suspect it is truly a 64/65 coin but was downgraded because of the eye appeal.

This one just has a touch of the wood! ANACS ms64RB.

 

Interesting coin. Just a hint of the lines on the reverse.

 

That is really interesting... very, "parallel" and "even" on the obverse

1981 is a common year for these. We've discussed it quite a bit and I think it's caused by the planchet sheet rollers.
