I was just on ebay and saw this auction with David Lawerence. I'd like to see these coins in hand I bet they are a great set to own. Is the price that he is asking fair, or what is the sheet value on them, not that I can afford them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170819880114?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I need to win the lottery! Of course, I would want one with a 2 cent, so dig a bit deeper. It would be cool to own, but that thing would take up my budget for the next 10+ years!
That is a bit high, but for a matching proof set of that era, maybe not. I really don't like the toning either, it is just too much. Also, notice some have CAC stickers and some do not. And some are CAM while others are not. I usually assemble sets like this one coin at a time so that I can really be choosy about it. I sure could use that 3 cent though.
I don't think it would be much cheaper to assemble this set one coin at a time, but I think that the end result would be a nicer more eye appealing set.
I would want a set a bit older, because I love a good 2 cent piece. I just guess that I would have to pay more. I can't afford anything near this anyway.
