Sounds like a small town I moved to in Iowa some years ago. I never understood small town mentality of being so nosy. I went out with a lady, and she lived with her siblings. They always had the police scanner on to see what people were doing, and actually owned a book that was a reverse phone book lookup. You looked up the address to see who lived there. The fact they actually published such a book for this town of about 5,000 people told me many others in town also owned the same book. Yeah, her and I didn't last very long. I simply do not care if my neighbors are having a domestic dispute.
Yes, I bank in a small town. The big one has a pop of about 400. The small one at less than 200, more like 120 best I can tell. I live in the country just outside the smaller town. My studio and backup home (plumbing, heat, water) is where all the SDB are with our coins.
Well I'm only 15 and you asked for older collectors but I look at mine quite often and the real fun part is trying to cram them all back into my safes when I'm done
I like that visual! Fun. What a wonderful problem to have at age 15. Hope you will need a another safe soon.
Thanks I probably will in like the next too weeks ... it's nice to finally meet another female numismatist by the way
Although many years had passed and I paid little attention to my collection begun way back in 1969, I have now been MUCH more involved in completing my US post-1981 commemoratives in clad and silver. Only three uncirculated 1996 Olympic coins remain to be found. In the meantime, I have been enjoying picking up modern decimal British proof coins and a couple of Canadian proof and specimen sets.
