Merc, which others do you need for the Frankies? Maybe I can help - PM me a list and we can possibly do a trade!

    Congrats!

    $880 CWR halves today - got a franklin and 2 40%'s
    $60 BWR nickels - a war nickel and.... A 1868 SHIELD NICKEL?!?!
I'll have to post a scan of it later but it's reallly worn down... I don't even know how the heck it got into a BWR cause it's quite a bit smaller in diameter and thinner... Oh well, I'm not gonna complain ;)

EDIT: Well here's the pic... after looking at that scan I thought I bumped the coin or something because the picture was rotated... but then I looked at the coin and I noticed that's how the actual coin is! the reverse is rotated probably like 15 degrees or so! does that add any value?

Unbelieveable pballer! What an amazing find. A few pages ago people were just talking about how no one has ever found a shield from circulation. Congrats!

Alright, whats left to find... has anyone ever found a flying eagle cent?

LOL!!! it's funny cause that was me that brought it up. I've always wanted to find a flying eagle cent and a shield nickel. It seems every time I think of something I want to find, I find it a few weeks later... it's happened to me at least 5 or 6 times now... peace dollar, morgan, mercury dime, the 1950-d nickel, a franklin, and a walker.... I got them all within a few weeks after hoping to get one! well actually one of my friends gave me the walker, but it still sorta counts i guess... I'm still waiting for a flying eagle, and a barber dime, quarter and half. I have a feeling they're going to take forever... but I've said that about a lot of stuff and been wrong so I'm just gonna cross my fingers ;)!

    Nice finds!

    Nice finds Merc & Pballer!!!!

    $100 in halves - skunk.

If not for my reject finds, I'd be decently sad (and jealous, which I am anyway. 26 Frankies! and a Shield Nickel!), but I've been doing well in that department. Over the weekend so far (dumping my skunk box) I've found a 1968 Canadian 50% silver quarter,

and a 1896 Russian 25 Kopeck (90% silver) that Krause puts at $20 in VF

I am jealous of your 25 Kopeck. I used to have a very old 1/2 kopeck coin, but I gave it to my dad to hang on to when I was just a kid, and I think it got lost in a move.

$250 of BWR and CWR dimes, 1 1952 p. I stopped by a coin and stamp shop and the owner sold me 39 rolls of pre 1960 nickels (that were not selling) in plastic tubes for face value. I have checked about 10 rolls and have found a 39S and a 38D.

Found a bank that will sell me bags, but only as they fill up. On my way to pick up a bag of quarters and build bridges.

    $245 in CWR dimes - 1 X Silver Canadian. I think it's 80% but I can't even read the date.
These CWR are feast or famine
My last 3 batches have been skunk, 5 x silver, and 1 x silver
Can't figure if they are dumps or not and someone missed the Canadian

I have 2 or 4 boxes of halves for Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and 2 for Saturday

Just have to find some time to dump all the clad.

must be the new month/quarter, but we had a lot of coin turned into the bank by customers today. i ended up wrapping 2 bags of pennies ($100), a bag of nickels ($50), a bag of dimes ($500), two bags of quarters ($1,000), and a bag of halves ($100). unfortunately, there was not much in the way of silver. i found the one war nickel, and also a '64 roosie. however, i had a couple nice grabs from other places. the v nickel that i mentioned earlier is the big one. i also came out with a couple dozen wheaties, including a 1911, a 1917, and a 1917s. they're not particularly valuable, but fun to find 100+ year old coins still in circulation :)
