Ok so I got my second 1970 D out of roll hunting ! :hail: This one is MS! I'm seriously thinking about getting it slabbed by PCGS , what do you guys think ?

Out of six boxes I got the 1970 D above and 9 40%'s and still no luck on getting a bag of IKE's.

Why would you have an MS63ish coin slabbed? It's nice but not worth anything substantially more than melt, imho.

yea i think you're right , it would have to grade like MS65 to make it worth the cost of slabbing the coin.

Nice find on the '70. I have yet to find any of those. Seem more rare to me than the '87's. I have found about 20 of those. I don'e even keep them anymore unless they are better than what I have.

Decent week with half dollars for me. Out of five boxes found 15 40% and my first Franklin in awhile a 51s. Generally my finds run pretty true to mintage. Usually find more '67 & '68 and if I do find a 90% its a high mintage like the 51s. Funny how that works. The more that were made, the more I find them.

  12. Two more boxes of dimes today and got 5 more rossies most of them were 50's

Found someone's dump bank today....over 50 CWR all clad. Luckily, the teller told me that they were brought in by a coin collector who had searched them already for silver. So, I only bought 2 rolls....and yes, they were all clad. So instead, I bought a box of dimes and found 1 silver (64).

    $5.50 loose halves: all clad
    $355 BWR dimes: 1980 Panama 1/10 Balboa, 2010 UK 5p
    $170 CWR dimes: 1990 UK 5p, 1964 D Roosie

Ugh. At least it wasn't a total skunk, I guess.

Not trying to be rude, just an FYI....it's Roosie, not rossie. Good score, that is way above my average.

I got an "oh boy" yesterday when I wanted into a BoA with my coin lock bag. I hadn't even been there in two weeks. I think they are just asking for more dumps with little snarky comments like that. What they don't realize is this....if they are nice an order coins they don't get all the dumps. Maybe I'm just being evil this week.

Just finished my first box of my roll searching career haha. I went with CWR of pennies. Heres what I found

    -737 coppers
    -9 common date wheats
    -1920 wheat
    -2 canadian pennies
    -1 South African Penny

I also found a 2009 Penny with Lincoln sitting on a log reading a book. I know 2009 is rare for some other coins. How about pennies?

And what I believe to be some proof pennies. This is where I need your help
    - 1968 S
    - 1973 S
    - 1974 S
From what I understand these are proof coins? If so, how on earth did they get into circulation? Anyway these are the first proof coins that I have ever found. Any value to them?

So its safe to say that I've been bit by the coin roll hunting bug. It was really fun searching through these pennies. Only bad thing is the crazy look I got from the teller when I asked for 50 rolls of pennies haha. Oh well

I want to try some nickels or dimes next. Im just scared that I will get a box of brand new nickels or dimes but I guess that's part of it.

    Did you have fun?

The 2009 pennies/cents are not rare. My guess is the box you searched has been sitting in the vault for a long time if you only found one.

The S mint coins you found are likely not proof. I think the regular business strike memorials minted in San Francisco from 1968-1974 were marked with an S. Proof coins would also have an S mintmark but they would have a mirror like finish.

I have searched over 25 boxes and have yet to find a proof penny/cent
