Anyone knows who does coins for tcf? In my area, brinks goes to wells Fargo, so I can dump there, but they want to charge me for an account. Stinks.

Also, four boxes of dimes, skunk. They were brinks boxes, so now I guess I know why.

Box of halves on Saturday was a skunk. I also have a teller looking into getting "big dollar coins" for me... still not sure if it is going to work out though.

    Silver definitely has slowed lately.

So, today I decide to do a box of nickels. I pick it up, get home and the whole thing is full of unc 2004 and 2005 Westward Movement nickels. ARGGGGGG. Back to the bank tomorrow.

Everytime I find one of those shiny thin ugly 2001 half dollars in a roll I can't help thinking there is some guy sitting there with a big bag of 2001's sticking them in place of the silver coins he is pulling out.

I am going to ask some of my tellers as well. I recall one of them telling me recently they could order them as of a couple years ago, but no longer.

    Never hurts to ask however.

All this talk about IKE's put me on a mission yesterday afternoon. I have asked my normal buy banks in the past if they could order Ike's and they told me when they order coin they only have an option to order the $1 denomination but can't specify what ones so I would more than likely get presidentials. Well, I went around the banks and called Garda, Loomis, and Brinks. The manager at Garda said he had been there five years and never saw a bag come through. Brinks told me the bank has to put a special order in to the Fed, but with Loomis, I hit pay dirt. Not only do they have them, they told me who they service so I was able to call one of those banks and told them if they ordered them for me, I would switch one of my accounts to them. They are calling me today or tomorrow on confirmation on when they are coming in. Hope this may help someone else.

Rolljunkie, what part of the country are you in? I wonder if Loomis is the same way in every region. Searching Ike bags/boxes would be great.

I just called PNC who uses Loomis. They said in February they received a memo saying they can non longer specify which denomination the dollar coins are requested - was worth a shot.

I rarely do dimes, but I grabbed one box today.
    2 Mercs
    2 Roosies
A pretty good box, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I'll do dimes more often.

Three boxes of halves. One 1964, and one 1967. Got three more boxes to pick up this week.

I am in the midwest. I really think that if the carrier service can get rid of a bag of dollar coins, they are all about it. Anytime they move coin to a bank, they are making money so that is my biggest argument against a carrier service culling silver. Why pull ten (just threw out a number) silver halves out of a bag before they box it when they can sell that same box infinate times to a bank with all the searchers out there. Just doesn't make any sense.

After talking to Loomis directly, I wouldn't believe much a teller told me. Call Loomis and get the scoop. I'm guessing another bank they service didn't get that "memo".

I wonder what the denomination of Ikes is, is it $1k/bag?

Also might be kind of hard to unload the ones you don't want. Coin counter machines at my bank aren't set up to take Ikes. But I suppose the old tried and true route of depositing rolled coins should work.

I have never been able to find CWR at any of the banks I've visited. What banks usually have those?

Nada for me today, however at the bank I heard one teller say "I had customer drop off an entire bag of standing liberty halves." I wanted to correct him, but then decided not to...and crap! That teller knows about silver.
