At September 4 1985 the monetary reform was made. Israeli government has proclaimed the new currency - New Sheqel. 1 new sheqel = 100 agorot. This monetary system exists and until now.
1 new sheqel 1993, copper-nickel, mintage - 8640000 pcs. Without small "o" on the reverse. 1 new shequel 2011, nickel clad steel, mintage - unknown. With small "o" on the reverse.
There were also 250 & 500 Perutah coins released in sets that were 50% silver. I bought them both off an old collector (with minor PVC damage) for melt. Here are some of the old Shekel Bills I picked up as "inflation bills".
Good to hear from you mrbrklyn, for some reason I feel like you`ve been away for some time and now checking out your favorite Israeli threads Here is a part of my Israeli sets collection. Israeli banknotes wallet, got all the bills (1948-2012) excluding 5 I didn't get yet from 1948-1952 and 2 extremely expensive that I probably never going to get.
