I pulled these from some change as my first impressions were something was not right. First up is the Dime. I believe this to be a off center strike. While it looks to be slight I think it is still there. Any thoughts on this? Am I going crazy? Next up is a 1940-s Wheat. The Date looks wrong to me. I have not compared it to another 1940-s yet. So what do you say, Errors or not? Thank you in advance.
Penny looks normal to me. Thats how the 1940 S looks. The dime seems off center but would need a better picture from directly above the coin and not at a angle to be sure.
The dime looks a bit off centre, but i don,t think its that odd for a coin to be a little off centre like this. The photo of the cent is to small for me to see the date.
Nothing special about the dime, I find these with this slight off-center all the time. Penny looks normal as well. You got yourself 11 cents.
I agree, the slightly off center dimes, unless more "strikingly" off center, are really not worth more than face value..
I tried a few of the dime from directly above the coin, but all the pictures turned out horrible. That angle was the best I could get to try and make it visible in the picture.
If you hover your mouse over the picture and wait a few seconds it will enlarge the photo. Once it is enlarged you can click the picture and it will enlarge it even more. If you still need more you can click it again to zoom. :thumb:
your dime is a normal looking coin. it is common to find coins that are slightly off center. it would be really hard for the mint workers to get the dies to align up perfectly. If you want some off center coins get on Ebay and grab some of them. back about a month ago I got 10 dimes that were broadstruck and at least 20% off center for less than 4.00 each including the shipping. these may be a good long term investment because they are cheap right now.
Guys, to zoom in on the photo, hover your mouse cursor over the photo. The screen will darken, and the photo comes up. Click that. It's easy. That cent photo isn't small, it's 2047x1535 pixels. That's pretty big. Bigger than my screen resolution.
