I am tempted to try a couple of boxes of quarters tomorrow. How do you guys average on those?

Dollars should come in boxes of $1000. Small dollars are 40 rolls of $25, and large dollars are 50 rolls of $20. And I'm pretty sure I've seen a Fed order form where banks can order large dollars, I think most just assume they can't. Let me see if I can find it somewhere.

EDIT: This is from frbservices.org: Q:
How can I obtain an Eisenhower dollar?A: Most Eisenhower dollars are in circulation. The U.S. Mint discontinued minting Eisenhower dollars in December 1978, and the last of the Eisenhower dollars were distributed to the Federal Reserve Banks in April 1979. Because the Eisenhower dollars are no longer minted, the Reserve Banks cannot order them from the U.S. Mint and supply them to banks. Coin dealers listed in the telephone yellow pages usually have a supply of Eisenhower dollars.
    ____________________________
I'm not sure if I buy it. I mean, banks can order small dollars, and there's a big chance that there will be SBA dollars in there. And those are no longer minted. If the Fed has them in supply, I still think banks should be able to order Ikes from them. Might be worth a phone call to the Fed, I don't know.

Aha! You can order them, if they are available. From http://www.frbservices.org/files/regulations/pdf/operating_circular_2_csmop_040111.pdf :
Section 5.5 (Page 14 and 15) NOTE: The copy/paste screwed up the formatting, so check the pdf if you want. See bold type:

    5.5 Submitting Coin Orders
    All Coin orders must:
Be verified according to the denomination breakdown and accuracy of
    the amounts before placing the order;

    1
The FRB recommends that initial opening and verification of the Cash shipment be performed under
    camera surveillance coverage.
    2
Dual Control means that two employees maintain custody of a Currency and/or Coin shipment and both
verify it to the appropriate records.
    Federal Reserve Banks
    Cash Services Manual of Procedures
    Effective April 1, 2011
    15
    Be submitted within the ordering schedule set by Your servicing FRB;
    and
Be received before the FRB’s scheduled cut-off time. Orders received
after the cut-off time will be assigned the next available ship date.
Notify Your servicing FRB immediately if You discover an error on the order You
submitted. If You miss the scheduled cut-off time for orders but have an urgent
need for a Coin order, You may call Your servicing FRB to discuss available
    options.

Standard units for ordering Coin are as follows:
    Coin Orders
    Denomination Standard Unit
    Dollar Amount
    Standard ABA
    Color Code
    Pennies $50 Red
    Nickels $200 Blue
    Dimes $1,000 Green

Except as provided in Section 5.6, all Coin orders are first filled with Current
    Coin, as inventory levels dictate.
Late or same day Coin order requests must be from an officer listed on Your
    Official Authorization List (OAL).
Your servicing FRB may, at its discretion, reduce Cash orders to maintain
    Currency and Coin inventories.

That would be interesting to see if they could actually order them and get them in.

Do you call in your order every time you want it? I have two banks set up on weekly orders. I pick up at one on friday and I just started the other one set for wednesdays. Maybe I am just getting lucky so far or maybe it is easier for them to just know to place the order every week instead of having to think about whether I called or not.

Picked up two boxes today...I post results when I get through them.

I had a standing order on Wednesday of 2 Loomis boxes and 1 Loomis Box on Thursday. Those boxes literally produced 1 x 40% over several weeks, so I stopped those orders the other week. I called my BoA branch that has gotten me halves in the past but they are real lazy about ordering for me but the boxes were good so I did it anyway. Spoke to them late last week and they "promised" me they would order. It never happened and they told me they would "try" again for next week. Whatever. If they show great, if not, I'll have a back-up plan in place.

I have a standing order for two boxes on Saturday which of course got messed up last week because the teller was out sick. They had the coin, but just did not know how much was mine. I guess they did not beleive me. I'm actually going to pick those boxes up today on lunch and they are ordering me more for Saturday. It works out that I get my boxes, just some unexpected driving.

I'm going to start ordering from more banks and see if the coin shows up. They might have to sit on them for a day or two but I really don't care because it seems that only a few banks around me are even close to reliable. What will prob start happening is everyone will actually order the coin and I won't be able to pick them all up. I've never had that problem before but I'll deal.

Picked up another box of dimes to go through at work tonight. Teller at the bank said she will have to charge me to order coin. What the heck, I have an account with them. Any of you guys had that problem? Also, picked up ten Ikes from a teller tray at another bank. What do you guys consider keepers in those?

I'm glad I went to go get my weekend boxes on my lunch break. They were all super nice and apologetic.
    Box 1 - No enders but 4 x 40% and 1 X 1964 - my first 90% half of the month...GEEZ it's been a tuff month
Box 2 - 1 x 40% Ender so I saved the box for tonight after I get out of work at 11 p.m.

Anyone want to take a guess on how many silver will be in the Box 2? I'll post the results later tonight. I hope it's not like Yacorie's boxes where the only silver is the one ender. That has only happened to me on a dime box.

I searched a couple boxes for the first time in several weeks yesterday.

    1 Box of Nickels : 1 War, 1 1935 Buffalo in VF, 1 Denmark, 22 pre-'60
1 Box of Halves : 1 NIFC, skunk

So I bought the Presidential dollar rolls and it turns out it's the entire set (20 rolls) minus this year's Chester Arthur. Up until now I have collected 8 of the 20. I never expected to have the opportunity to buy the other 12 rolls ($300) at once. The good thing is it'll be at face value but I am wondering if their would be a premium if I sold the set together? Maybe I'll sell off some 40% halves to cover the cost.

I'm guessing 3 40%ers but hope you find a lot more than that.

Just had my very first skunk. It's only a second box I ever searched, so its not bad. It was an odd box too, rectangular, with no markings on wrappers that tells you where it came from. Wells Fargo has another one, not sure if I wanna pick that one up too. Have you guys had much luck with these boxes?

Most likely another roll searcher went through it and rolled it up and boxed it in that manner. I wouldn't get another box like that if I were you.

A box of dimes, also a skunk. Two boxes in a row. Hope I have better luck with two boxes of halves tomorrow.

they appear to be bank rolled. But I guess I don't have much experience with them yet.
