If I win, which is unlikely of course, I will donate it to the Coin Talk site. I hope the financials here are in the black!
now its on the other edge of the price window, but just check kitco, I am wasting space on the internet.
JCB, did you mean Sunday the 18th, or Saturday the 17th? Because you say it ends on Saturday the 18th, and today, the 17th, is Saturday.
Hello all. Sorry for the delay in announcing a winner. I've been away on vacation the last week or so. The end of the contest was actually yesturday, Saturday 17th of March (not 18th). Closing prices = 32.56 per ounce. I am hesitant to determine a winner until somone can double check that my math is correct. This is what I have so far. There are 21 (1965-1970) 40% Kennedy Halves. Each one weighs 11.5 Grams. 21 x 11.5 = 241.5 grams. 241.5 x .40 (40%) = 96.6 Grams of Silver. 96.6 divided by 28.35 (how many grams are in an ounce) = 3.4074 ounces of silver. If we take 3.4074 x 32.56 we have a total value of $ 110.94. Total Value = $ 110.94 Sorry for the delay, but could somebody check out my figures before a winner if officially declared? TYVM, ~Jason
According to the Coinflation silver melt value calculator, the melt value of 21 40% halves is 101.09, so pballer225 wins. Did the $32.56 closing price come from a more credible source than Coinflation? Because Coinflation says the closing price was $32.55.
