I may have found a new candidate http://www.ebay.com/itm/California-..._Individual&hash=item27c43030d8#ht_500wt_1102
And another sucker gets taken on eBay. I think to be included, it needs to be a real US coin, or at least real.
Well, speaking for ancient collectors, the US wishes that their coins had 1/1,000 the imagination and artistry that the Romans had. They wish they had 1/1,000,000 the imagination and artistry of the ancient Greeks. I could literally come up with 1,000 Roman coins, and 10,000 Greek coins, that in my view are superior in artistry to every single US coin. The only US coins that would approach them would be the ones imitating them.
It has been 3 years since I answered this question and my opinion has not changed. Worst Coin Design Ever?? My reasoning is along the same line as the OP not liking the Strawberry Leaf Cent. Simply a scary looking woman on the obverse.
Lance, while your point about the Wisconsin commemorative is valid, it might have more effect if you didn't post one of the most attractive Wisconsin's I have ever seen. I am going to say MS67 minimum and possibly MS68. Where did you get that? Wait, let me guess. Photo looks like Mark Goodman's, which means CRO? Seriously, the Long Island is unattractive? Personally, I think the Long Island is as cool as the other side of the pillow. Look at the bright side, at least you didn't list the Buffalo Nickel as the most unattractive.
