I have the attention span of a gnat. Lol. So I grab a couple of boxes of nickels. They need sorting just like the pennies. There are new ones from late 50s and early 60s.
I know. And I thought I went through those but not everything is sorted out. I just thought these were Jeffersons.
25 buffaloes in that box. Some pennies, a bunch of new early 60s nickels, and a small pile of silver. The rest are 40s and 50s. Not a wasted day. Lol Happy New Year
I was told it was PMD but under a microscope it appears to be struck that way. I passed it onto an error collector who said he would let me know if he figured it out. I haven't heard back
It looks like three or more rotated D's and an hor/S SE. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it. Maybe you got the benefits-reward of a wayward employee that got caught in the act. LOL Hey, @Paddy54 that last Jeff you posted is that a tilted die?
I wish Ron Pope was still with us to see this one. I am totally convinced that its not pmd but multiple punches of the D and some how took a hit either on the mm or missed punched in the die. You can definitely see the serifs of the D at multiple places. Finned rim The lower reverse rim there are 3 not done post mint was done when minted. Also needs to be pvc treated asap.
